Cam Newton claimed veteran referee Ed Hochuli told him that he “wasn’t old enough” to get a borderline call during Sunday’s game. Hochuli denied making any such comment. America’s lip readers sided with Hochuli.
If you thought that’d be the end of this story, think again.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback was asked about the denial during today’s media availability.
“Well, did you expect him to say something else?” Newton answered before turning in a world-class head tilt.
If the NFL wanted to boost already sky-high ratings, they’d assign Hochuli to Panthers games for the rest of the season. Really let the tension build.
