Forbes reported that Philadelphia 76ers owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer were investing in Crystal Palace FC to “get to know the market” before bringing over an NFL franchise to London. The source in the report claimed the owners plan to flip the Sixers, which could be worth three times what the owners paid in 2011.
The Sixers released a statement from owner Josh Harris claiming they he “hopes to own the Sixers for many, many years and keep it in the family for many, many years.”
That news surely will thrill Sixers fans, prospective top five draft picks, and fellow league executives. The team, accused of “extreme tanking,” is 1-21 this season, 38-148 since the start of the 2013-14 season.
