Richard Rodgers caught this 61-yard hail mary as time expired. What a finish for the Packers, who came into this game having lost four of five. Aaron Rodgers has taken a lot of criticism for not leading more fourth quarter comebacks (ahem), but this was a gutty performance, with a depleted offensive line and pedestrian receiving corps, that will long be remembered.
The Packers were dismal in the first half of that game. When they went down 17-0, it really looked like it was going to be ugly. There are still some structural issues with this team — we talked about them in the first paragraph — but for now Green Bay controls their destiny in the NFC North, where a Week 17 matchup with the Vikings is still a good bet to decide the division. As a Packers fan, all I can hope for is that this team gets healthier as opposed to taking ever more blows. Tonight’s a real good one, though.
