Case Keenum of the St. Louis Rams suffered a concussion on this play, but amazingly, nobody seemed to notice. Not Rams coach Jeff Fisher, and not NFL officials. Keenum inexplicably stayed in the game; he fumbled a couple plays later and the Ravens kicked the game-winning field goal.
Afterward, the team announced Keenum suffered a concussion, and the QB still hasn’t met with the media. The story picked up national headlines as just another example of the NFL not correctly dealing with concussions.
Today, the NFL made this statement:
What a bureaucratic move. This happened over 24 hours ago; nothing’s been done but they’re investigating. I’m sure they’ll get around to a resolution on this quickly so it doesn’t happen again.
