Mike Hessman - Minor League Baseball's Home Run King - Has Retired

Mike Hessman, the real-life Crash Davis, has retired.  He retires as one of eight players to ever top 400 minor league home runs. Hessman hit 433 home runs in 19-minor league seasons – the most by any player in American-based leagues.

Hessman was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 15th-round in 1996. He spent portions of 5 seasons playing in MLB, totaling 14 MLB home runs in 109 games with the Braves, Tigers and most recently, the Mets in 2010.
