It's Time For a Serious Chat About Iowa Going Undefeated

Iowa forced four turnovers and beat Wisconsin 10-6 on the road, moving to 5-0 on the season. The Hawkeyes aren’t great. They may not be good. But, they are solid. Against their schedule (one of the softest among the Power 5 teams), that may be enough for a serious run at 12-0.

Here’s what Iowa has left on the slate (home games in uppercase)…

ILLINOIS
at Northwestern
MARYLAND
at Indiana
MINNESOTA
PURDUE
at Nebraska

Iowa plays one ranked opponent: Northwestern. Minnesota is the only relatively formidable home game. There’s a road trip to mediocre Nebraska. With the Indiana/Maryland draw from the B1G East, that’s about it. We’re not saying Iowa will go 12-0. But, there’s no insurmountable hurdle ahead. Scarily for Hawkeyes fans, Kirk Ferentz could be heading for contract extension territory.
