Josh McCown has been named starter for Cleveland’s game against Oakland, after clearing protocol from a concussion sustained Week 1. The move comes as a little bit of a surprise given Johnny Manziel’s exciting (if uneven) performance last week. Browns coach Mike Pettine has openly preferred McCown to Manziel, from intimating he’d be the starter as early as May to comparing him to a “low mileage car driven by a little old lady” (he meant this as a compliment).
