Sepp Blatter reportedly had a relationship with Sports Illustrated model Irina Shayk, Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend. That’s the headline that is floating through the ether of the Internet Friday morning. And, admittedly, it’s an eye-catching headline, isn’t it?
The unsubstantiated gossip item first appeared in an Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, earlier this week. Today the always reputable Daily Mail picked up on it.
Spanish daily El Mundo made the sensational claim about the roving-eyed football chief and Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend in a piece published yesterday titled ‘All the women in Blatter’s life.’
It declared the 79-year-old ‘had a relationship’ with the Russian beauty after dating tennis player Ilona Boguska but before meeting glamourous Linda Barras, 50.
Headlines like this is why we came up with a game about Blatter last month. You could conceivably cook up any story centering around the 79-year-old disgraced leader of FIFA and it wouldn’t seem too outrageous. We now await to see who will play Shayk in the sequel to United Passions.
