Every year, the NBA Playoffs descends on our lives and occupies our nightly schedules from April till June. In the past, various girlfriends of mine have been intolerant of this schedule (though now I can get away with the blanket excuse that it’s my job). Football season may be bad, but at least other things can be arranged on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Basketball is every night for the first few rounds, and it can get contentious. That hockey’s postseason is also involved in the mix is not helpful, either.
