Matias Vuoso Capped the Scoring in the 3-3 Chile-Mexico Thriller

The Copa America 2015 continues to produce highly entertaining soccer. Monday night host Chile played Mexico to a 3-3 tie in Santiago. Mexicos Matias Vuoso capped the scoring early in the second half, latching onto a ball over the top and beating Claudio Bravo. Somehow that goal — Vuoso’s second of the night — held up for the remainder of the match.

Chile should might have ended up with a bunch more but had two good chances wiped out by the offside flag, including the one below. Maybe Alexis’ Sanchez arm was offside here? Maybe?

Chile, the hosts, are tied atop Group A with Bolivia. Mexico is in third with two, whil Ecuador is last with zero. For Mexico it’s a patchwork “B” team, with El Tri prioritizing the CONCACAF Gold Cup next month making tonight’s result all the more impressive.

Arturo Vidal scored twice for Chile, including a first-half penalty.
