It was a chaotic scene after American Pharoah raced to the first Triple Crown in 37 years. A deep-pocketed group huddled to collect hardware and be interviewed. Large trophies and tight quarters made for a dangerous situation.
One poor young lady paid the ultimate price.
As she reached for something on the trophy table, she was struck in the eye by a wayward hand. And it wasn’t a little love tap.
