Adorable Kids Are Leaving Messages at Davidson College for Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry, the NBA MVP, struggled in Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals, and he hasn’t looked totally right since taking that hellacious spill in Houston. But Curry got hot late in Game 3 in Cleveland, pumping in 24 second-half points as the Warriors whittled a 20-point deficit to one before ultimately losing.

Still, fans are concerned about Curry, so much so that they’re calling Davidson College – where he starred – looking to leave messages for him. It’s been happening for most of the season, but the calls appear to have been coming in more frequently lately. From the Charlotte Observer:

“I’d say 75 percent of them, the first question they ask is, ‘Is this Steph Curry?” Beeler said. “Sometimes it’ll be for his shoes. I’ve had requests for (his 2-year-old daughter) Riley. A lot are cute and want him to come to their birthday party.”

As the gatekeeper of Davidson men’s basketball, Beeler fields requests from media outlets trying to get in touch with coach Bob McKillop. But he’s also been answering calls from kids across the country wanting various things from Curry, and it’s been difficult to do his regular job.

Making his job difficult? Or fun? I was unaware the Davidson SID had a highly stressful job given the school’s prominent sports programs.

At any rate, kids are the best. Listen to the audio on that page:

“Can you tell him I said good luck?”
