Here’s a purported protestor outside the FIFA Congress. His pure American sentiment about “ties” is straight out of an early 1990s sports column. Helpfully, he wore the t-shirt with the same message as his sign.

Also, hockey had ties. American football also has ties, as Donovan McNabb discovered.
