In many cultures, mayonnaise on chips, or French fries, is a very common thing. Southampton manager Ronald Koeman was asked what he thinks about mayo at his press conference for whatever reason and said "chips without mayonnaise is not chips."
Koeman is, of course, extremely wrong. Fries with mayo is like playing Philipp Lahm in midfield, or Andrey Arshavin as your center forward. Sure, you can, but why? They're not the absolute worst thing in the world, but the superior options are so superior, and so obvious, that it's almost heartbreaking to see anyone eat fries with mayo.
Southampton are clearly staying in the top four despite their idiot manager, not because of anything positive he's doing.
Seriously, mayo on fries. Good lord.
