NBA schedule and results: LeBron James a gametime decision against Phoenix

The Cavaliers will be in Phoenix and may get a boost with LeBron James possibly making a return from injury. James is a gametime decision. In Washington, the Wizards will host the Spurs.

Kevin Garnett has been suspended one game for head-butting Dwight Howard, the NBA announced Tuesday. The altercation took place in the first quarter of the game Monday night between the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets.

Howard has been fined $15,000 for his role in the scrum.

The tussle occurred just over four minutes into the Rockets' 113-99 victory. It began when the two big men got tangled up as Howard tried to catch a pass in the paint. After a foul was called on Garnett, the Nets big man gave Howard a little shove, and Howard hit Garnett across the chest.

Garnett responded by throwing the ball at Howard, getting up in his face and head-butting him. Garnett also pushed Howard, which was followed by Howard slapping Garnett in the neck. The players had to be separated and security even came out on the court.

After the officials sorted everything out, Garnett was ejected and Howard was hit with a technical foul. Howard finished with only eight points and five rebounds in 28 minutes, but it didn't matter against the struggling Nets.

Brooklyn has lost six games in a row and will be without Garnett for its game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
