Minnesota United FC goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock had the ball in his possession and was facing no pressure from AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday night. Then, inexplicably, he threw in an own goal.
People who are piling on Ndjock are missing the point. This happened in a preseason friendly. Why even bother playing these if you’re not going to use them to work out the kinks?
If anything, it was smart of the goalkeeper to get this out of his system before meaningful matches begin.
