New Jordy Nelson Knee "Hiccup" Is Concerning for Packers Fans

Jordy Nelson suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during last year’s preseason. At the time, everybody knew it would be a big loss, but nobody quite knew the extent to which his absence for the entire season would be devastating to the Packers’ offense. With Nelson’s ability as both a deep threat and possession receiver, it was almost like losing two starters. There was a butterfly effect. His return this season was much anticipated.

However, that return will be put on hold for at least a little bit. Nelson suffered what is currently being characterized as a minor injury in his left knee – the other one from what was injured last season – and has been placed on the PUP list. It sounds like he may miss the whole preseason? Via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:

“Our end goal is still the same,” Nelson said Tuesday. “We’ll be ready for the regular season. Like I said, there’s just a little hiccup with the other leg.

“We’re not worried about it. We’re going to work through it inside and continue to progress, and we’ll be ready to go at some point during camp and definitely for the season.”

When something like this happens entering camp, details are always going to be scarce. Hopefully the fact that it sounds like he will be out of action for over a month is partially precautionary, but it’s only natural for Packers fans (including myself) to be holding their breaths right now.
