E'Twaun Moore agrees to contract with Pelicans, according to report

The only good part of the 2015-16 Bulls is gone. He's joining Anthony Davis in New Orleans.

E'Twaun Moore has cashed in. The 27-year-old guard has agreed to a four-year, $34 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Scott Kushner of The Advocate. This ends Moore's two-year stay in Chicago, where he became a vital part of the Bulls' rotation last season.

Moore's move to the Pelicans signals the Bulls' opted not to bid higher than his Bird Right's, which were set around $26 million over four years. The Bulls would have had to use salary cap space to to sign him to anything higher. Our own Tyler Pleiss explained Moore's contract situation earlier this year.

Moore broke out this past season into a quality 3&D guard. He was arguably the Bulls' second best perimeter defender behind Jimmy Butler and was also the team's most efficient three-point shooter, making 45.2 percent of the 104 threes he attempted on the year.

The Bulls said publicly that Moore was a priority for them this offseason, but apparently he wasn't too much of a priority. This contract does not feel like an overpay. The Bulls could have used Moore to plug their hole at point guard this season and then moved him off the ball in ensuing years, but that option is over now.

Good for E'Twaun. He was one of the few good parts of an otherwise joyless season. Like Paul said:

Favorite more of the E'TWAUN E'RA? I'm gonna go back to Thibs' final season and say this Thursday night game-winner against the Thunder.

Get money, E'Twaun. We're happy for you, and we miss you already.
