Charles Barkley has finally weighed in Kevin Durant leaving OKC for Golden State, and instead of saying something smart or rational or logical – a guy wanted to leave his job after nine years! He was sick of ballhog Russell Westbrook! He wants to be a champion, why begrudge him that? – the great entertainer came with this:
That wasn’t three guys getting together over the summer on a banana boat trying to dominate the league. That is my problem. Listen, if you get traded, you get traded, but when you get together and say, ‘Let’s dominate the league and try to cheat your way to a championship.'”
And here I thought the point of free agency was that you did the time with the team that drafted you, and now you’re free to do whatever you want. Picking the best team in the NBA is cheating?
