Bulls still interested in Pau Gasol?

Probably not.

We've all assumed that Pau Gasol's short-lived Bulls career was over, but ESPN's Ramona Shelburne is reporting that the Bulls are among a group of teams in discussions with him on a new deal:

First of all, that $18-22 million price tag is enormous, but new cap climate and all and some team may be willing to pay something like that on a short-term deal. Like the Blazers, for whatever reason:

As for the Bulls, I can't imagine they're actually seriously considering this. It's been reported for a while that the two sides have been heading for a break-up, and the Bulls using a ton of their cap space to re-sign an aging Gasol makes absolutely no sense at all. My guess is they're making sure their name is out there for show to make it look like they made an "effort" to bring Gasol back.

Of course, the Rondo/Wade rumors make little sense either, so who the hell knows.

What I do know is that if the Blazers go ahead and nab Gasol on an expensive deal, the Bulls should be sniffing around on Moe Harkless and/or Allen Crabbe.
