Yaya Toure Wasn't Too Excited About Capital One Cup Win

Yaya Toure scored the winning penalty in the Capitol One Cup for Manchester City. He did not seem that enthused about celebrating it afterward. The above photo, of him sitting quietly off to the side enjoying a beverage made the social media rounds.

Further investigation on the team’s Instagram page revealed Toure did take part in the celebrations for a bit, while checking his phone.

Maybe Toure has loftier ambitions. Maybe he was still smarting about his teammates mobbing backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero instead of him after the shootout. Maybe the soon to be 33-year-old was exhausted after a 120-minute shift in midfield. Maybe he just doesn’t get that enthused by things.

Toure neither removed his headphones nor looked up when Manchester City wished him a happy birthday in 2014. Though, his agent did threaten to have him leave the club because the celebrations weren’t vociferous enough and did not involve a Bugatti.

Perhaps Toure was conserving strength to celebrate with his real fans on social media, where he was dropping exclamation points and multiple emojis.
