Happy Gilmore came out 20-years ago today. Rory McIlroy was a 6-year old, so he probably didn’t see it in theaters. Of course, the movie wasn’t released in Ireland until Junemcilroy, after Rory’s 7th birthday, so who knows!

Still, as a golfer and former teenager, McIlroy knows Happy Gilmore quite well. The PGA Tour’s official Twitter spent the day paying tribute to the golf movie. They even asked Rory for his favorite quote. Apparently, they didn’t let him share his real favorite.
