Jalen Rose co-hosted Mike & Mike this morning and deemed it the perfect place to try out some new material. The show’s new set relaxes people and makes them all loose and conversational.
“I heard a rumor,” he said after co-host Mike Greenberg read a spot for 1-800-Flowers. “If you don’t spend time with your Valentine, Derek Fisher will.”
Zing.
The ex-New York Knicks coach has been rumored to encroach upon his players’ love interests and was involved in a love triangle that eventually led to a physical confrontation with Memphis’ Matt Barnes last year.
It’s not the funniest joke ever told on television but watching how excited Rose was to sneak it in and the great anticipation P.J. Carlesimo had for the punch line is enjoyable. Anyone with that much energy in the morning should be commended.
