Conor McGregor has become legendary for his trash-talking ability, and his talents were on full display Wednesday during a very NSFW press conference to announce his welterweight bout with Nate Diaz at UFC 196.
While McGregor was obviously the star of the afternoon’s proceedings, the younger Diaz brother handled himself in the chatter department as well. The two fighters sparred with each other verbally for virtually the entire event, with Diaz even lobbing vague steroid allegations in McGregor’s direction.
On Thursday, McGregor joined Fox Sports Live and told Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole that he “enjoyed” himself during the press conference and that having someone talk back made it more fun.
It’s kind of funny to see McGregor actually engage with someone who can fire back verbally. We haven’t really gotten a glimpse of that during his career. Here’s hoping the 30-year-old Diaz can fire back the same way in the octagon and give “The Notorious” a better fight than Jose Aldo did.
