Per ESPN’s Marc Stein: the Golden State Warriors have emerged as the favorites to sign former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Anderson Varejao, who is expected to clear waivers Sunday afternoon.

Varejao was waived by Portland on Thursday, shortly after being traded to the Trail Blazers during a three-way trade involving the Cavs and Orlando Magic — one that landed Cleveland the services of Channing Frye.
You can argue all day whether this trade was ‘good’ for Cleveland or not, but, no matter what your opinion is: you’re not going to change the mind of this young Cavs fan who did not take the trade news well … AT ALL … and that one of his favorite players could potentially be headed to the team’s biggest competition probably didn’t help either….
Best part of this, by far:
“WHO DID WE GET???”
“Some guy from the Magic”
“But the Magic are very bad.”
This kid is already more qualified to manage the operations of a basketball team than like half the Lakers front office staff.
Anyways… if we’re being completely honest: I got equally as upset reading Varejao’s goodbye to Cavs fans and the city of Cleveland he published this week, and I’m just a neutral bystander
In hindsight, this kid’s life may be temporarily ruined — but, it is probably for the best for this little guy and all the children of Cleveland to get used to sports disappointment early so that they’re groomed for the consistent devastation they’ll be experiencing throughout adulthood.
