Elite Eight Odds Preview: Arizona Wildcats vs. Wisconsin Badgers

No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 2 Arizona meet Saturday in an Elite Eight rematch from last season.

The No. 2 Arizona Wildcats are 0-4 straight-up (SU) and 2-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last four trips to the Elite Eight. The Wildcats will try to break out of their Elite Eight slump on Saturday against the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Arizona is a 1.5-point favorite over Wisconsin according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Wildcats were a 3.5-point favorite over the Badgers in the Elite Eight last year when Wisconsin came away with a 64-63 upset win.

No. 6 Xavier hung around for most of its game against Arizona, but the Wildcats eventually pulled away in the late stages with a 68-60 win as an 11.5-point favorite in the Sweet 16. The Wildcats improved to 14-0 SU and 10-4 ATS over their last 14 games, and 19-1 SU and 15-5 ATS over their last 20.

This year's Wildcats squad has been strong on both sides of the floor all season long. Arizona is 10-1 SU in its last 11 March Madness games as the betting favorite.

Like Arizona, Wisconsin had a tough back-and-forth matchup in the Sweet 16 against No. 4 North Carolina, but eventually pulled away for a win and cover in a 79-72 victory. It was the Badgers' ninth straight win and it brought the team to 19-1 SU and 9-10-1 ATS over its last 20 games.

While Frank Kaminsky is still the focal point of the offense, Sam Dekker has been having an outstanding tournament, averaging 20 points per game. Wisconsin is 3-0 ATS and 2-1 SU in three trips to the Elite Eight since 2000.

The UNDER is 5-1 in Arizona's last six games and the total also went UNDER when these two teams met last year. Saturday's total is set at 133.5 points for the Wildcats vs. Badgers betting matchup.

With a combined record of 38-2 SU over their last 40 games, these two teams are not accustomed to losing. Historically, No. 1 seeds vs. No. 2 seeds are very close, with No. 1 seeds going 9-11 SU and 11-9 ATS in their last 20 games against No. 2 seeds. This should be a great game between two elite teams.
