Ohio State ties Oregon, 7-7, on Ezekiel Elliott touchdown run


The Buckeyes' top back slashed the Ducks' defense to even the National Championship Game.


Ohio State halfback Ezekiel Elliott took an inside handoff 33 yards for a game-tying touchdown, evening the National Championship Game at 7-7 with 4:36 remaining in the first quarter.

The run capped a 97-yard drive that spanned 10 plays and included a controversial spot that gave the Buckeyes a fourth down conversion. Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones went 3/6 for 54 yards on the drive. He also ran for 9 yards. Elliott now leads the Buckeyes with 39 rushing yards.


Oregon quickly punted on its next series, giving the Buckeyes a chance to take their first lead of the night.
